Annelies A. van Raalten

Annelies A. van Raalten, 69, a longtime Upton resident, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 25, 2018, in the Milford Regional Medical Center after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She was the wife of the late Frederik “Hans” van Raalten who passed away in 2004.

Born on May 13, 1949 in The Hague, Netherlands, she was the daughter of Jetty Boone-Weissenbach of the Hague, Netherlands and of the late Marinus Boone. She was raised and educated in the Netherlands. After marrying Hans, they then moved to Upton in 1976.

Prior to retirement, she was employed as a Senior Tax Professional at H&R Block.

Annelies was a worldwide traveler. She especially enjoyed visiting Africa to see the elephants. Throughout her younger years she was the Assistant Scout Master for the Hopkinton Boy Scouts Troop 1, an Advisor for the Southborough Police Explorer Post 53, was a member of the Upton Bloomer Girls and taught seminars at H&R Block. She mostly enjoyed spending quality time with her family.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her son, Scott van Raalten and his wife Sharon, of Upton; her grandchildren, Cameron and Alex van Raalten, both of Upton; and her nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her brother, Bob J. O. Boone.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 29, from 4 to 7 P.M. in the Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home, Inc., 45 Main Street, Upton.
