Frank P. Braney

Frank P. Braney, 71, of Upton, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at the UMass/Memorial Healthcare-University Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Rita L. (Rousseau) Braney.

Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Frank and Pauline (Skypek) Braney. He attended St. Stanislaus Parochial School and graduated from DeLaSalle Academy in Newport, RI. He also graduated from Belknap College in Center Harbor, NH.

Frank was employed as a Contract Administrator for Meditech for over 30 years retiring in 2006.

He was a communicant of St. Gabriel the Archangel Church where he served on its building committee and was a lector. He was a member and Past Grand Knight of Mumford Council #365, Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Research and Building Committee for the Upton Fire Station. He also served on the Upton Community Preservation Committee for several years. Throughout his life he always was actively involved in his sons’ various activities and also served as president of the PTO at Our Lady of the Valley.

Frank was always humble and willing to help others in any way possible without hesitation. He was an avid world traveler and loved an adventure.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Frank Braney, III and his wife, Theresa, of Northbridge and Michael R. Braney and his wife, Susan, of Holden; one sister, Barbara Simcock of Fall River and three grandchildren, Frank Braney, IV, Meghan Braney and Emily Braney.

His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 6, at 10:00 A.M. in St. Gabriel the Archangel Church, 151 Mendon St., Upton. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Whitinsville.

Calling hours at the Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home, Inc., 45 Main St., Upton, are Monday, February 5, from 5 to 8 P.M.
