Marie (Sylvia) Carter, 86, of Upton, died early Friday, February 25, 2005, in Milford Regional Medical Center in Milford. She was the wife of George Carter, to whom she was married for 57 years.
Mrs. Carter was born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late August and Maria (Neto) Sylvia, and had lived there until coming to Upton eight years ago. She was an assembly worker at Aerovox for many years and later at Acushnet Process Company, both in New Bedford, retiring about 35 years ago. She was a communicant of Holy Angels Parish.
In addition to her husband, she leaves her daughter, Diane, wife of Larry E. Judd of Upton, and one niece, Beverly Sylvia of North Dartmouth. She was also the sister of the late Benjamin Sylvia and Lydia Viegas.
Burial in Lakeview Cemetery, Upton.
Calling hours Sunday, February 27, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
