Mary K. Pope

Mary K. (Spencer) Pope, 86, a lifelong Upton resident, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018, in the Blaire House of Milford surrounded by her loving family.  She was the wife of 62 years to the late Theron L. Pope, Jr.

Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Catherine (Inman) Spencer and was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Milford.

Mrs. Pope was an active communicant of the former Holy Angles Church and now St. Gabriel the Archangel Church.  She took pleasure in gardening in her yard, enjoyed meeting people on her daily walks about town, was a bowling league member, had a talent for sewing, loved to dance and especially cherished time spent with all her family.

She is survived by five children, Terry White and her husband, Rick, of Bellingham, Steven Pope and his wife, June, of Douglas, Tina Pope of Grafton, NH, David Pope of Douglas, and Patty Maher and her husband, Lester, of Bellingham; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

Her Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 8, at 10 AM in St. Gabriel the Archangel Church, 151 Mendon St., Upton.  Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 7, from 5 to 8 PM, in the Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home, Inc., 45 Main St., Upton.
