Anita L. Cilley

Anita L. (Monica) Cilley, of Upton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at Milford Regional Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of William A. Cilley, with whom she shared 38 years of marriage until his passing in 2009.

Born in Milford, Massachusetts, on July 17, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Savino and Pauline (Kessler) Monica.

Anita was a proud graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1958, and went on to earn her nursing degree from the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Worcester in 1961. She dedicated her entire career to Memorial Hospital, where she served from 1961 until her retirement in 2001. At the time of her retirement, she held the position of nursing supervisor, a role in which she was deeply respected by colleagues and patients alike.

Anita found great joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved visiting yard sales, watching birds, and, in recent years, sharing lunches with close friends. She also cherished traveling with her husband in their motorhome and spending meaningful time with family, especially her beloved grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving children, William D. (Dan) Cilley and his wife, Meghan, of Boca Raton, Florida, and Christopher J. Cilley of Upton; and by her cherished grandchildren, Monica, Nicole, Reese, Maggie and Emma.

She is also survived by her extended family, including her in-laws, Paul Cilley and his wife, Nancy; Mildred (Dolly) Bacon; and her sister-in-law, Nadine Cilley of Florida.

In addition to her husband and parents, Anita was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Michelle Cilley, who passed away in February of this year.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral services.
