Bruce Edward Aldrich, Sr

Bruce E. Aldrich, Sr., 62, a lifelong Upton resident, died Thursday, May 26, 2011, in the University of Massachusetts/Memorial Medical Center in Worcester after a brief illness. He was the husband of Kathleen P. (Tilton) Aldrich, to whom he was married for over 36 years.

Mr. Aldrich was born in Northbridge, son of Grace R. (Brothers) Aldrich of Upton and the late Donald J. Aldrich. An Eagle Scout with Boy Scout Troop 132 in Upton, he was a 1968 graduate of Nipmuc Regional High School and attended Worcester State College. He was a machinist with Lakeside Machine in Upton for the past three years and had previously worked at various area machine shops. An avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, he was also an enthusiastic supporter of the annual Upton Fishing Derby.

In addition to his wife and his mother, he leaves one son, Bruce E. Aldrich, Jr. and his wife Leigh of Littleton; a daughter, Tara Jayne (Aldrich) Beaupre and her husband Ron of Douglas; five grandchildren, Ashley, Patrick, and Alison Beaupre of Douglas and Logan and Emily Aldrich of Littleton; a brother, Stephen Aldrich of Mesa, AZ; a sister, Donna Aldrich of St. Johnsbury, VT; and many nieces and nephews, including Jeffrey McFetridge of Northbridge.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Upton Fishing Derby, c/o the Upton Police Association, 30 School St., Upton 01568.

Service Details

Funeral services Wednesday, June 1, 2011 from the Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home,
45 Main Street, Upton, with a funeral mass at 10 a.m.
in Holy Angels Church, Milford Street, Upton.

Following cremation, private burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Upton.
