It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Charles “Charlie” Nicholas Morreale, who departed this life on August 16, 2026, at the age of 66, after a brave journey with cancer. His courage and strength, even toward the end, were inspiring to everyone who stood by him. He is the beloved husband of Debra “Debbie” E. Morreale.

Charlie was the son of the late Charles S. Morreale and Marie “Lou” N. Morreale. Raised in Framingham, he graduated from Joseph P. Keefe Technical Vocational School, where he refined his skills in carpentry and cabinet making. Proving his legendary drive early, Charlie achieved the remarkable milestone of buying his very first home at just 18 years old.

In addition to his beloved wife “Debbie” of Hopedale, he is also survived by his children: Julie A. Gonet and her husband Daniel of Carver; Daniel “Dan” C. Morreale and his wife Julie of Uxbridge; and Shawn P. Morreale and his wife Felicia of Berlin. He was the proud grandfather to four grandchildren: Sophia and Daniel “Gunner” Morreale, and Hunter and Sawyer Gonet. He also leaves behind his brothers, Richard J. Morreale and his wife Kim of Franklin, and Allen P. Morreale and his wife Sheila of Upton. As well as his goddaughter, Kristina Barber (Morreale). Charlie found immense joy and deep pride in his role as a godfather.

Charlie was predeceased by his first wife, Michele A. Morreale (Hogan, formerly of Ashland), and his sister, Linda Morreale-Steele of Arizona.

Following graduation, Charlie began his career as an assembler with Nanmac Corporation, honing his work ethic across various roles as a carpenter and laborer before embarking on a distinguished twelve-year tenure with Bradford White Water Heaters. His natural diligence and ability to learn quickly sparked a rapid ascent through the company. Starting as a Lead Assembler, Charlie was promoted to Lead Warehouse Manager within just two months. Two years later, he advanced to Distribution Warehouse Manager, taking full responsibility for all warehouse operations across Massachusetts. Over his eight years in this executive role, Charlie earned numerous accolades for his excellence, leadership, and professionalism. He truly excelled in customer service and employee relations, and his hands-on management style drove the remarkable success of the Westborough location. This growth caught the attention of corporate leadership, who selected Charlie to deploy to the new Reno, Nevada facility. His mission was to implement the successful operational strategies he developed in Westborough and elevate the Reno location to his rigorous standards. He completed this task in record time, earning a glowing recommendation that propelled him into the role of Analyst Manager for the SABH U.S. Water Heater Group. In this position, Charlie traveled to SABH locations nationwide, always leaving a lasting impact and bringing home special treasures for his children.

Above all, Charlie prioritized his family. In 1992, after more than a year of intensive business travel, he learned his wife was ill and made the selfless decision to resign from his executive position to focus entirely on his family's care. The family relocated from Bellingham to Hopedale, MA, to be closer to medical support. Seeking a less demanding schedule, Charlie began working as a manager for Webber Lumber in Milford in 1993.

After enduring the heartbreaking passing of his beloved first wife, Michele, in 1994, Charlie faced the difficult task of rebuilding. He found a path forward through a new professional journey at the BJ’s Distribution Center in Uxbridge, where he proudly served as General Manager for more than two decades, anchoring the facility with his leadership.

Charlie was blessed to find deep, meaningful love twice in his lifetime. Years after losing Michele, he joined a motorcycle club in Auburn, MA, where life opened a beautiful new chapter. It was there that he found his perfect match in Debbie, with whom he shared the rest of his life.

Despite these physical challenges, Charlie never wavered in his commitment to living life fully. He brought that community spirit to raising money and walking for a cause with his MS team, "Morreale Madness." An unstoppable sense of adventure and an infectious energy defined his days. A true thrill-seeker, he embraced every moment with a generous spirit and an adventurous soul—whether he was ticking skydiving off his bucket list with a daring jump from thousands of feet in the air or riding his Harley to chase the freedom of the open road.

When he wasn't pursuing high-speed thrills, Charlie found peace and joy in the beauty of nature. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping, speed boating, kayaking, tracking through the woods during hunting season, and finding quiet moments casting a line on a still lake. His love for the water extended to the beach, where he spent countless hours scuba diving for lobsters. During these beach trips, he would always delight his children by bringing them a starfish to marvel at, gently ensuring it was safely returned to the ocean before it was time to head home. Charlie also had a deep passion for travel, frequently setting sail on cruises to explore new corners of the world.

Through it all, Charlie lived for his family and led by example. Whether he was wearing a dress to a Mother-Daughter softball game, coaching Mighty Mites’ football, teaching his children to swim, or leading family camping adventures, he made sure to instill a sense of humor, strength, wisdom, and a willingness to always lend a hand. He equipped his family with life lessons they will carry forever, and he has often been—and will forever continue to be—referred to as “Superman” by his children.

Charlie’s legacy is one of integrity, resilience, and boundless love. We will forever be blessed to have been a part of his extraordinary life.

“Courage isn't having the strength to go on—it is going on when you don't have strength.” - Napoleon. This is the very motto we relate best to Charlie. He put up a tremendous fight through every hardship life threw his way. From the heartbreak of losing his young wife and the pressure of raising his family as a single father, to his prolonged battle with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and his final cancer diagnosis, he never stopped fighting. Yet, even in his own darkest moments, Charlie maintained his resilience and made every effort to uplift and support everyone around him.
