Claire M. (Blanchard) Dufresne, 83, of Perry, Georgia, and a former longtime Upton resident, died Friday, July 16, 2010, in Georgia after an illness. She was the wife of Gaston M. "Gus" Dufresne, to whom she was married for 57 years.
Mrs. Dufresne was born in Upton, MA, on March 23, 1927, a daughter of the late Alfred J. and Bella (Berthelette) Blanchard. She was a self-employed hairdresser, operating a salon out of her Upton home for 50 years until retiring in 1999. She moved to Thomasville, GA in 2000 and had lived in Perry since 2009. She was a communicant of Holy Angels Parish in Upton for most of her life.
In addition to her husband, she leaves three daughters, Margaret Vaughn and her husband Davis of Perry, Lucille McCall of Hopedale, and Jo-Ann Paradis and her husband Frederic of Upton; one son, Richard Dufresne of Upton; a sister, Pauline Kelly of Ochlocknee, GA; ten grandchildren, Sharon Dube, John Nedoroscik and his fiancée Jackie Lear, Kevin McCall, Staff Sgt. Jason Nedoroscik, Justin Libbey, Justine Earl and her husband Eric, Lisa McCall, Mary Paradis, Dominique Dufresne, and Emilie Paradis; and one great-grandson, Jason Nedoroscik, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to United Hospice, 708 E. 16th Ave., Cordele, GA 31015.
Service Details
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Holy Angels Church, Milford Street, Upton, on Saturday, July 24, at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, North Main Street, Upton.
