Deirdre M. Provost

Deirdre M. Provost, 81, a longtime resident of Upton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Harrington Hospital in Southbridge. She was the beloved wife of Richard L. Provost.

Born in Lynn, she was a daughter of the late Vernon and Virginia (Larocque) Farquhar. Deirdre was raised and educated in Lynn and was a proud graduate of Lynn Classical High School.

Prior to her retirement, Deirdre worked for a time as a nurse’s aide and was also devoted to her role as a homemaker, caring for her family with love and dedication.

Deirdre found joy in cooking, sharing meals, and traveling. She especially cherished her annual trips to Lake George, a tradition she enjoyed for 14 consecutive years, as well as visits to Lake Dennison and Beaman’s Pond in Winchendon. Above all, she treasured spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her husband, Richard, she is survived by her two sons, Richard V. Provost of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Steven Provost and his wife, Hallie, of Centralia, Washington; her three sisters, Sandra Palmer, Sharon Farquhar, and Lorna Hendra; adored by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held privately with her family.
