Dorothy F. Ferguson

UPTON

Dorothy F. (Gaughan) Ferguson, 94, of Upton and formerly of Holliston, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at the Milford Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.  She is the beloved wife of Scott M. Ferguson.

Born in Boston, she was a daughter of the late John and Catherine (Connolly) Gaughan.  She was raised and educated in Brighton, MA. and was a graduate of St. Columbkille’s High School.

Prior to retirement, Mrs. Ferguson was employed as an office clerk for New England Telephone and Telegraph for over 30 years.

She enjoyed traveling on several cruises, spending time at their house on Cape Cod, and cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter Joan Fitzsimmons and her longtime partner John Donovan, of Ashland; her stepchildren, Brent Ferguson and his wife Doreen, of Weare, NH. and Hope Stogryn and her husband Daryl, of Brighton, Canada; six step grandchildren, and her nephew, William Donovan and his wife Marguerite, of Brighton, MA.

She is predeceased by her son, Richard Fitzsimmons and her sister, Gertrude Donovan.

Her funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, July 28, in the Pickering & Son Upton Funeral Home, Inc. 45 Main St. Upton.  Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Upton.

There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital via www.stjude.org/donate
