Elaine C. (Gregoire) Picard

May 22, 1930 — March 12, 2017

Elaine C. Picard of Upton left this world for a new journey on March 12, 2017.

Elaine was born on May 22, 1930 in Spencer, MA to Loretta (Arsenault) and Athanase Gregoire. She earned a business degree from Becker Junior College in 1948. She was the loving and devoted wife of 43 years to her late husband, Eugene D. Picard, whom she married on November 4, 1954 in Spencer, where they both grew up and met. Elaine and Eugene moved to Upton in 1969 and were heavily involved in their local community and the parish of Holy Angels. Elaine was an accomplished cook, enthusiastic movie-goer, gardener, avid knitter, and loved to laugh. She could always be seen walking the town of Upton for her daily exercise.

Elaine leaves behind two daughters, Michelle Roy and her husband Edmund of Dighton and Colette Picard of Hull; three sons, Kenneth Picard and his wife Elaine of Upton, Jonathan Picard and his wife Melissa of North Attleboro, and Craig Picard and his wife Katie of Portland, CT; nine adoring grandchildren, Eric, David, Greg, Madelene, Nicole, and Chrissy Picard, Renee (Roy) Marshall, and Justyne and Megan Roy; and three great grandsons, Grant, Welles, and Quinn Picard. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Romulus and Norman, and four sisters, Jeanne, Annette, Natalie, and Marie.

Her family paid this tribute to her, 'Elaine (Mom) was one of the kindest people you could ever meet. She opened her heart and her home to everyone over the years and she will be truly missed.'

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Mass/NH Chapter, P O Box 96011, Washington DC, 20090-6011.
