Eunice M. (Claflin) Porter, 92, of Upton, died Wednesday evening, December 19, in Beaumont Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Westborough after a period of declining health. Her husband of 70 years, Carl W. Porter, Sr., died in September 2011.
Mrs. Porter was born September 20, 1920 in Hopkinton, the daughter of the late Harold and Elizabeth (Johnson) Claflin. She was a 1938 graduate of Hopkinton High School and had lived in Upton since 1941. She worked at Bay State Abrasives and General Electric and then as a nurse's aid at the Upton Nursing Center. A member of the United Parish of Upton, she was very helpful to her friends and neighbors and anyone in need.
She leaves two sons, Carl Porter, Jr. of Upton and Richard Porter and his wife Juliet of Grafton; a grandson, Glen Porter and his wife Courtney of Holden; two great-grandchildren, Katharine and Isaac Porter of Holden; and her step-grandkids, Sonya, Elizabeth, Tubby, and Roger. She was also the aunt of Beth Hearn, Janis Baptiste, and Lawrence Claflin. She was predeceased by her brothers Richard and Lawrence Claflin and her sister Charlotte Brisette.
