George E. Jordan, Jr., 77, of Upton, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 1, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was the cherished husband of Deborah “Debbie” (Morse) LaRose-Jordan.
Born in Martinez, California, he was a son of the late George and Emma “Georgianna” (Stephens) Jordan and was raised and educated in Jacksonville, Florida.
After high school, George proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, attaining the rank of Sergeant. The majority of his service was spent assigned to the Marine Detachment aboard the USS Forrestal (CVA-59),
In his younger years, George enjoyed fishing and often dreamed of owning a boat and living on the water. He and Debbie fulfilled that dream, spending more than 10 years living aboard their boat, ironically named the Quixotic, in Solomons, Maryland, on the Chesapeake Bay. The ocean was always central to George’s life, and he never lived more than an hour from it.
George treasured time spent with family and friends. He was known for his quick wit and playful spirit, there was always a joke to tell and a laugh to share. His warm hugs and generous heart will be remembered by all who knew him.
In addition to his beloved wife Debbie, he is survived by his children, Joshua Jordan of Salem, New Hampshire; Zachery Jordan and his wife, Alessia Cherici, of Ambler, Pennsylvania; and Cassie Pearsall and her husband, Jeffrey, of Upton. He also leaves his stepchildren, Mark LaRose and his wife, ChangMi, of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, and Matthew LaRose of Upton.
He was the proud and cherished grandfather of Samatha LaPointe, Seth Jordan, Nicholas Pearsall, and Noah Pearsall, and great-grandfather of Rayne Younker and Bennett Younker. He is also survived by his sister, Judy Russo of Jacksonville, Florida, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, and his former wives, Joyce Jordan and Donna Jordan.
George was predeceased by his daughter-in-law, Tabitha Jordan; his step-granddaughters, Hannah LaRose and Nora LaRose; and his siblings, Shirley Faro and Gene Jordan.
A celebration of his life will be announced and held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be sent to the Upton Fire & EMS Association Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 1012, Upton, MA 01568
