John G. Holmes, 69, of Worcester, died Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at Saint Vincent Hospital after an illness.
John was born in Natick, a son of the late Arthur W. Holmes, Sr. and Nellie (Reid) Holmes. He worked as a custodian at Wellesley College for 18 years, retiring in 1987. A loving and caring person, he was always happy and maintained a positive outlook on life despite the disability challenges he faced. He will be remembered with love by his family.
He leaves his sister, Mary Belanger and her husband Fred of Paxton; a sister-in-law, Kathy Holmes of Mendon; two nephews, Thomas M. Holmes and his wife Paula of Sturbridge, and Michael Holmes of CA; four nieces, Susan Belanger of Miami, FL, Cathy Belanger of Westboro, Susan Kaufman of Mendon, and Nancy Severs and her husband Sheldon of Woodstock, CT. He was the dear brother of the late Arthur W. "Billy" Holmes of Mendon and Thomas Holmes of CA.
