Kevin B. O’Sullivan, Sr., 89, of Upton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Westborough with his beloved wife of 59 years, Patricia (Regan) O’Sullivan, by his side.
Born in South Boston, he was the son of the late Daniel and Margaret (McGillycuddy) O’Sullivan of Glencar, County Kerry, Ireland. He was raised and educated in South Boston, Massachusetts. He graduated from South Boston, High School in 1951. Upon graduation, he proudly served in the United States Air Force as part of the 339th Fighter Wing during the Korean Conflict. He received the Korean Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and UN Service Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1955.
Prior to retirement, he was employed as a chemical technician for Polaroid Corporation in Waltham, Massachusetts for 39 years.
He enjoyed stamp, coin and baseball card collecting as well as spending time with his many grandchildren. He was an avid Boston Sports fan.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his big sister, Eileen O'Sullivan of South Boston, his children, Daniel O’Sullivan and his wife Kathleen, of South Grafton, Marianne O'Sullivan, of Milford, Kathleen (O'Sullivan) Whynot and her husband James, of Bridgewater, Kevin O'Sullivan, Jr. and his wife Jobee, of Shrewsbury, and Thomas O'Sullivan, of Grafton. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Liam, Bridget, Seamus, Aidan and Mairead, Eileen, Joseph, Gillian, Owen, Matthew, Erica and James, Emma, Grace and Brayden.
Due to the current gathering restrictions, his funeral service and burial with military honors at Lakeview Cemetery in Upton will be held privately with his family.
