Louis E. Martin Jr., “Lou” age 86, Lou passed away July 9, 2025, he was a resident of Ocala, Florida for the last several years. He was born at home in the old farmhouse in Upton, Massachusetts on June 27, 1939, and is the son of Louis & Anna Martin.
Lou joined the U.S. Navy shortly after graduating high school in 1958. While he was in active duty, his squadron served aboard the USS Wasp. He rose in rank to Aviation Electronic Technician 2nd class by the end of his active duty in 1962. He continued on into the reserves with the Navy where he was Shore Patrol until 1964 where he rose to Petty Officer 1st Class. He served during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Lou was the regional manager of all of New England for Curtis Industries.
In his spare time he enjoyed repairing sewing machines and helping family and friends with home repairs. He was a member of the Blessed Trinity Catholic Church here in Ocala Florida.
He is preceded in death by the mother of his children Nancy Martin, son Michael P. Martin, grandson Evan M. Martin and sisters Beverly Delgenio & Mary Ellen “Mickey” Luke. He leaves behind to cherish his memory; son Louis E. Martin III, daughters Michele Carbajal, Julia Grados, Pamela Ripley, sisters Patricia Martin, Catherine Manley, Christine "Tina" Perkins and brother William H. Martin. 6 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends of Louis Martin, Jr. will celebrate his life with a funeral Mass at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, August 7, 2025, in St. Gabriel the Archangel Church, 151 Mendon Street, Upton, MA. Military honors will be conducted at the cemetery where he will be laid to rest in the Lakeview Cemetery, Upton, following the Mass.
