Paul M. O’Brien, 60, of Upton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at home. He was the loving husband of Huong Mai “Mary” O’Brien.
Born in Lowell, he is the son of Ann M. (Thomas) O’Brien of Framingham and the late John (Jack) J. O’Brien. He was raised and educated in Framingham and was a 1983 graduate of Framingham South High School. As an accomplished trombonist, he achieved Northeast Districts Jazz Band and All-State 1st Chair. Paul also played in the Framingham Blazers Band.
Paul was employed as a truck driver for Summers Trucking in Upton. He enjoyed riding his beloved motorcycle and playing golf. And, he is a proud member of his sober community.
In addition to his loving wife and beloved mother he is survived by one son, Liam B. O’Brien of New London, NH and his siblings, John J. O’Brien of Framingham, Maeve E. Mickle of Bradenton, FL, Elizabeth A. O’Brien of Bradenton, FL, and James V. O’Brien of Van Nuys, CA. He is also survived by two granddaughters, McKinley and Madison, five nephews, one niece, several cousins and many close friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, May 23, from 4 to 6 P.M. at the Pickering & Son Upton Funeral Home, 45 Main St., Upton, followed by a brief prayer service at 6:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul’s memory may be made to a Cancer foundation or organization of your choice.
