Rita C. (Raymond) Migneault

April 11, 1919 — July 21, 2013

Rita C. (Raymond) Migneault, 94, of Upton, passed away on July 21, 2013 after a period of declining health. She was the widow of Henry Joseph Migneault, who died in 1976.

Mrs. Migneault was born in Fall River, the daughter of Elzeard and Eva (Blanchette) Raymond. She moved to the Worcester area in 1942 and made her home in Northboro from 1950 to 1995 before moving to Upton.

Mrs. Migneault was a nurse's aide for many years and also cared for many foster children for over 20 years, providing warmth and love where there was not much hope. Her dedication to this service gave her much fulfillment and appreciation for the simple pleasures of life. After many years of foster care she worked at Digital Equipment Corp. before retiring in 1976. She also worked as a caregiver for many private families before moving to Upton.

She is survived by one son, Anthony Migneault and his wife Ellen of Monson; one daughter, Eva Fowler and her husband Glenn of Upton, with whom she made her home; a daughter-in-law Ruth Migneault of Grafton; 8 grandchildren, Christina Cleary of Columbus GA, Sheryl Shank and her husband Donald of Leominster, Joseph Migneault and his wife Luann of RI, Stephen Migneault of Monson, Thomas Migneault Jr and Christopher Migneault of Grafton, and Michael Cormier and Michelle Goodwin and her husband Michael of Upton; 9 great-grandchildren, Jay Cleary and his wife Jennifer of Waynesville NC, Kevin Cleary of Columbus GA, Thomas Earl Migneault and his wife Jennifer of Burlington VT, Jeremy Migneault of Grafton, Tiffany and Michael MacDonald of Leominster, and Stephanie, Stanley, and Stacey Goodwin of Upton; 3 great-great-grandchildren, Mya and Blake of Waynesville NC and Ayden of Leominster; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was pre-deceased by her son Thomas who died in 2012 and 3 brothers, Joseph, Arthur and Albert, and 6 sisters, Eva, Alberta, Regina, Yvette, Lillian and Imelda.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the George L. Wood VFW Post, Box 472, Upton 01568.

Service Details

A calling hour at the funeral home will be Friday morning from 9 a.m.
followed by a funeral Mass at St. Gabriel the Archangel Church,
151 Mendon Street, Upton at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow in Howard Street Cemetery in Northboro.
