Robert Y. Fudge, 88, of Upton, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026, with family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Evelyn (Sudhalter) Fudge.

Born and raised in Medford, he was the son of Wilson and Parthena (Yarn) Fudge. He graduated from Bentley College in 1957, served in the United States Army, and spent more than four decades working first as an accountant and later in banking, where he served as Treasurer and later as Vice President of Framingham Savings Bank. Bob retired in 2000 and spent the next 26 years enjoying time with family and friends.

Bob and Evelyn shared 62 years of marriage which included 30 years in Framingham and nearly 20 years in Parrish, Florida. He was known for his cheerful greetings and unfailingly positive attitude. A formidable cribbage and poker player, Bob especially enjoyed his morning sunrise walks, coffee with friends, and ending the day with a good whiskey.

Community service was important to Bob, and he was active in DeMolay, the Masonic Lodge, and held leadership roles with the Boy Scouts, the United Way, and the Episcopal Church.

In addition to his wife Evelyn of Upton, he is survived by his children, Karen Ballou and her husband Joseph, and Kenneth Fudge and his wife Jacquelyn; his grandchildren, Christopher, William, Daniel, and Felicia. He is survived by his sisters, Sylvia Stratton and Nina Ross. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Wilson and Parthena Fudge; his sister Lynda Fudge, and brothers, Donald and Benjamin Fudge.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 16, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Pickering & Son Upton Funeral Home, 45 Main Street, Upton. A Masonic service will be held at 6:45 p.m.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 17, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Spirit Episcopal Church, 3 Pleasant Street, Sutton.

Committal with military honors at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne will be announced at the conclusion of the church service.
