Russell Bruce Aller of Upton, MA has passed away peacefully at home. Born November 1948 to Janet and Russell Aller of Ferndale, Michigan, Bruce’s innate curiosity and sense of humor brought warmth and laughter to everyone who knew him. He attended SUNY Oswego and went on to enjoy a successful career as a commercial artist, a profession that allowed his creativity and imagination to flourish. He enjoyed biking, racquetball, spirited conversation, and the small pleasures that brightened each day.

He was predeceased by his wife, Alison Jane Goodzeit Aller, with whom he shared a devoted and joyful marriage. Bruce was the beloved brother of Vicki, Betsy, Laurel, Kirsten, and Christy, and he held a special affection for his nieces and nephews, with whom he shared many moments of joy. He was supported and loved by a wide circle of family and friends, including the Goodzeit family, stepmother Esther, Cynthia, and his longtime racquetball, golf, and college buddies.

Bruce’s deep love of nature and his appreciation for all living creatures were constant threads in his life. At home, he was known as the “Cat Meister,” always surrounded by the animals he adored. The Southwick Zoo in Mendon, MA held a special place in Bruce’s and Alison’s hearts, and a remembrance in their names will be made in support of the zoo.

Bruce will be remembered with both laughter and tears by all who knew him. His generous spirit, quick wit, and boundless curiosity remain gifts he leaves behind. As he often joked, “the Chex Mix is in the mail.”

His services will take place privately with his family.
