Aline R. Deiana

Aline R. (Thompson) Deiana, 74, of Hopkinton, MA, passed away peacefully Friday, June 16, 2023, after a heroic fight against Alzheimer's Disease.

Born on October 19, 1948, Aline was a daughter of the late Charles K. Thompson and Rita A. (Hart) Thompson.

Aline is survived by her three daughters, Brenda Mansir and her husband Mike, Sherry McDaniel and her husband David, Tina Brenn and her husband Tom, her grandchildren Nicholas Mansir & Kristina Brenn, her two best friends Diana Dakai & Mary Lee Welch and many other dear friends.

Aline is predeceased by her sister Janice Jones.

Raised in Westboro, MA, Aline married and moved to Hopkinton where she raised her family. Many grew to love her while she worked at Colella’s Supermarket for many years. She went on to work at Fenwall in Ashland for 20 years. She ultimately went to work for TJX Corporation until she retired as an office clerk in 2018. Aline worked hard and loved people. She was always busy cooking for her friends and coworkers. She loved to spoil people with homemade treats and homemade potholders.

Her greatest joy was spending time at the ocean with her best friend Diana. Their favorite spot was Hampton Beach. She loved to walk the beach and collect sea glass and shells.

A special thanks to the Salmon VNA Hospice in Milford for the amazing care they provided and Home Helpers in Wayland for providing amazing caregivers. Specifically, Jacqueline Grantt. Jackie stood by Aline’s side for two years and provided companionship and amazing caregiving. 

A memorial service in Aline’s honor will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 24, 2023, in the Pickering & Son Upton Funeral Home, 45 Main Street, Upton, MA. There will be no calling hours at the request of Aline.  Burial, in Pine Grove Cemetery, Westborough, will be privately at a later date.
