Darlene M. Marcou

Darlene M. Marcou, 64, of Millville, passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021, at Genesis Health Care in Milford.  She was the beloved wife to Gerard “Jerry” J. Marcou of 49 years.

Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Theresa (Arena) Olsen and the late Alfred Olsen.  She was raised and educated in Medway.

Around the year 2000, Darlene worked for Cingular Wireless, which merged with AT&T.  The Cingular Wireless kiosk was located inside the Bellingham Walmart.  She also worked at Putnam Investments in the mid 1990’s as a lead in the Custom Mail Department and was the only employee in her department to receive a merit bonus.  She founded and owned AKA Cleaning Service from 2008-2018.  In earlier years she worked at Cumberland Farms and Almac’s in Bellingham; as well as The Fair in Milford.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, including her husband, children and grandchildren, which she truly adored!  Darlene also loved and had many four-legged pets over the years, including Lady-Bug, Dusty, Fluffy, Staind, Mango & Coco, she also loved visits from Mark’s cat Snowflake.  She enjoyed talking on the phone, listening to music, social media, watching movies, sewing, crocheting, going to bingo, visiting Old Orchard Beach off season, running her on-line Still-Trying Cribbage League for over 15 years, where she met many friends throughout the world, watching HGTV, Hallmark and the Lifetime channel.

She is predeceased by her daughter, Melinda Marcou.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Michelle Rivers and her husband Scott, of Upton, Michael Marcou of Warwick, RI, Matt Marcou, of Millville, Mark Marcou, of Upton, siblings Rosemarie Kilduff and her husband Rich, Joanne Ryan and her husband John, Al Olsen and his wife Jean, grandson Jeremy Rivers and granddaughters Felicia Rivers and Madison Marcou.

Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 16, in the Pickering & Son Upton Funeral Home, 45 Main Street, Upton.  Burial will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.

Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Friday, October 15, in the funeral home.
