Diane Czajak

Diane Worthington Czajak, 82, of Upton, died early Monday, May 31, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family and friends. After deciding her argument with cancer was boorish, and quite frankly going nowhere, Diane joined her late husband, Ronald F. Czajak who was far more reasonable when discussing things that Diane knew she was right about.

Born in Queens, NY, she was the daughter of the late Constance and Gerard Worthington, and was a graduate of Oswego University. She worked as a first grade teacher at McCarthy Elementary in Framingham Massachusetts, where she passionately taught for over 25 years. In the classroom Diane marched to the beat of her own drum. No matter the curriculum she was forced to use Diane made sure every child in her class could read and write before they moved on.  

Diane lived in Upton for over 20 years and was a communicant of St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish.

Diane was preceded in death by her first child Peter. She leaves behind a daughter, Susan Czajak of Westborough, two sons, Brian Czajak of Somerville, and Paul Czajak (the favorite) of New Jersey. Diane’s children have long disagreed as to who was her favorite. Now that it’s in print however, the argument has been settled. Diane also leaves two grandchildren, Aidan and Abigail Czajak of New Jersey, and her friend Daniel Shearn of Upton.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday, June 4, in St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, 151 Mendon Street, Upton.  Burial will take place privately at a later date.

Calling hours are Thursday, from 5 to 7 PM in the Pickering & Son Upton Funeral Home, 45 Main Street, Upton.
