Obituary
Margaret A. Herbert, 88, of Upton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 5, 2023, with her daughter by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Fritz I. Herbert, who predeceased her in 2002.
She was a devoted wife and mother. Margaret was a Tax Examiner for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and an active member of St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish and the St. Gabriel’s Women’s Club in Upton. She was an avid reader and she enjoyed knitting and crocheting; she crocheted blankets for her 14 grandchildren as graduation gifts and countless baby gifts for friends and family. Margaret will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched.
Margaret lives on through her children: Paul Herbert and his wife Jill and their 3 children and 8 grandchildren; Michael Herbert and his 3 children and 1 grandchild, Mark Herbert and his wife Beth and their 5 children and 2 grandchildren. Susan Gorius and her husband Aaron and their 3 children.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, on Thursday, August 10, in St. Gabriel the Archangel Church, 151 Mendon Street, Upton, Mass. Burial, in Lakeview Cemetery, Upton, will be held at a later date.
There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Gabriel Archangel Parish Mortgage Debt Reduction or the Hopedale Firefighters Association.
