Norma A. Earl

Norma A. (Sandstrom) Earl, age 92, left this world on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, while at AdviniaCare in Northbridge. She was born in 1930 in Worcester to the late Herbert and Charlotte (Ohree) Sandstrom. She graduated early (and proud of it!) from the former North High School in Worcester.

She married her husband, Robert Earl in 1950 and moved to Upton, where she lived and raised her family of four rambunctious boys. After retiring in 1991, she and her husband Bob moved to Mt. Dora, Florida where they enjoyed most of the year in warmer weather and would travel back to Upton for summers. Together they would travel anywhere (as long as it was by car) to Michigan to visit relatives, to Colorado, Cape Cod, Maine and anywhere their car could take them.

In addition to caring for her family, she also worked at the Home National Bank for many years. Later in life, she enjoyed volunteering at Milford Hospital and for Meals on Wheels, where she and her friend Maria delivered in-house meals. She enjoyed her knitting group at the Senior Center and driving her friends for coffee.

She is survived by her sons Jeff and his wife Holly, and Steven and his wife Rita, and her daughter-in-law Linda. She was proud of her three grandchildren, Eric and his wife Jennifer, Kevin and his wife Kara, and Marquis, as well as her great granddaughter, Gianna. She also leaves many nieces and nephews in Milford, Plymouth, Michigan, and Colorado. She was predeceased by her husband Robert and two of her sons, James and Robert Jr.

Thank you to the wonderful, caring staff at AdviniaCare (especially Nurse Kelly) and the wonderful Hospice staff who made her last journey comfortable and peaceful.

Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, March 10, in the Pickering & Son Upton Funeral Home, 45 Main St. Upton.  Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Upton.

A calling hour will be held from 9 to 10:30 AM prior to the service in the funeral home.
