Patricia Ann Berg

Patricia “Patty” Ann Berg, 60 of Upton, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, May 22nd, 2021.

Patty was born November 1st, 1960 in Weymouth, Massachusetts. She went to Seven Hills adult day health where in 1994, she met Amy. 

Through a friendship developed at a group home in Worcester, Amy Polenski then took Patty into her home. Within five years, Amy and her husband William Casey had four children, and they became a family of seven. This gave Patty four siblings, Catherine, Alyson, Christopher and Jessica. Patty also leaves behind Shirley Polenski, longtime friend Audrey Story and many other friends and relatives.

Patty loved to sing, dance and play her guitar. She loved celebrating holidays with family, being the life of the party and her Monday nights at the Rose Garden having a beer with friends. She went to every game the kids had, and although she may have clapped for the other team at times, everyone loved her anyways. With Amy’s mother, Shirley, and friend Rick she enjoyed Friday nights dancing at the Tuttle in Auburn, participating in monthly Men's Club suppers at the Upton Senior Center and attending outdoor concerts. 

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday, May 28, in St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, 151 Mendon St. Upton.  Burial in Lakeview Cemetery will take place privately at a later date.

Calling hours are from 5 to 7 PM on Thursday, May 27, in the Pickering & Son Upton Funeral Home, Inc. 45 Main St. Upton.

The family requests flowers be omitted and suggests an act of kindness instead.
